We are glad that you are considering visiting Delta Oaks.  We love to have new people come to see if this is the church for them.  Most likely you are wondering, “What should I expect when I come to Delta Oaks?”

Sunday Morning

We begin Sundays with a worship service at 10:00 a.m.  Come dressed in a way that is most comfortable for you.  We sing a mix of traditional hymns and contemporary praise songs. Most importantly, you will hear a lot of God’s Word in the words of the songs, the Bible reading, and the preaching. The service is about an hour and ten minutes long. We do take an offering during the service as a part of our worship but visitors should not feel any presure to give. We celebrate the Lord’s Supper the first Sunday of the month in the worship service.  It is so good to be together, worshiping God, and being transformed by the Word!

During the service we have a loving and caring nursery for your use.  Our nursery is for infants through 3 years old.  But we are flexible.  If your older children need to be in the nursery, that’s fine.  You can check your children in before the service or sometime during the service.  You can even stay with your children in the nursery if that makes you more comfortable. We realize that having older children in the worship service goes against the tide.  But we love our children to be with us in worship, and you will be surprised how much they get out of the service.

After the service we have a time of refreshments and fellowship in the Family Room. It’s a wonderful time to connect with people and to catch up with old and meet new friends.

Sunday School is after the service from 11:30 - 12:15.  We have classes for all ages.  For the children, we use the Great Commission Publications.   Feel free to stay with your children in the classroom until you feel comfortable. The youth class is learning Chrsitian principles for handling their (future) finances. Because we know there is always more room to grow in the knowledge of God and his will for us, we have a class for adults as well. Currently we are viewing and then discussing lectures from Dr, Robert Godfrey's (President of Westminster Seminary California) lectures on Church History and how it relates to our theology and life.

On the first Sunday of the month we have a "Fellowship Dinner" right after the morning worship. On this Sunday we skip Sunday School classes for an extra time of fellowship and a lunch together. Everyone in invited to stay and eat even if you can't or forgot to bring food to share.  We always have plenty for everyone.

Sunday Evening

This year we have moved our evening ministries from the church building into homes. Check the events calendar for what is happening as well as times. We have a youth group and college/career group meeting in different homes at 5:30 most Sundays.  They grow together through the study of God's Word as it related to issues they face in their life and enjoy fellowship together. Of course, there is always food!

The whole church meets together about once a month at Pastor Mike's home for such things as Favorite Chili Night, the Christmas Party, Hymn Sings, Soup Night, and more.  During the summer everyone comes over for BBQ, games, singing and just to hang out.

That is what you should expect on Sundays, but the church does not close down for the rest of the week!  Check out the “Events” page for other things that are happening during the week and continue to come back for special events and ministries like men’s prayer breakfast, women’s craft day, women’s Bible study, Angel Tree ministry, fellowship dinners, conferences, and more.
